We said goodbye to St Helena today. It deserved a few more days, but this was our window to leave.


We are pacing in front of a round-the-world sailing flotilla called the oyster.


Before we left, we climbed Jacob’s ladder—700 steps up the side of a cliff. Right in the middle of the climb, we ran into a couple coming down. They were from just outside of NYC - sleepy hollow. We chatted for about ten minutes- they have family here. We all remarked on how friendly the island is. People say hello when you walk by them. No horns. There is no crazy Manhattan pace. It was an important reminder about what should matter but often does not


We stopped at Annie’s to sign the log on the way out. Sailors have been signing the log books at Annie’s for decades. And we joined that tradition.
