The facts, just the facts.

35 days.

With leg three over and leg 4 looming, I thought it might be interesting to share some basic facts about the sail.

REIMAGINED is a 52-foot catamaran. Beam (width) 27 feet. Mast clearance is about 78 feet, and she weighs about 27,000 pounds.

We have a basic set of sails:

Main

Jib

Stay

Code 0 (upwind)

Asymmetrical

Symmetrical

The hull is e-glass with carbon fibre reinforcements in high-load areas

We have eight 400W solar panels and a 4.8 Kw lithium battery bank on board.

Ideally, we make enough solar energy to operate the entire boat.

On passage, the boat uses about 15 Kw of power a day, much less at anchor or in a marina, as items like the autopilot and all the sailing tech draw a lot of power.

We have a water maker. On these first three legs, we make 7,500 litres of water (yes, that is correct).

The coolest, but probably the least relevant, stat for most was that we only used 300 litres of diesel in the passage (two tanks, which in total hold 1000 litres). That is a tiny amount—like 1 litre for every 20nm. We really only motored instead of sailing for about 6 hours (when we had no wind). All other engine uses were in making power or getting into the islands and out.

Oh, right, cause for the first three legs, we sailed 6014 nm at an average speed of 7.9k

Few other things people have asked. The kitchen has an oven, induction stove top and we have a BBQ (see below)

It has AC throughout, although you do not use it on the passage, four fridges (none working), and two showers.

Today, I am beginning to fix some items that broke (the list is long). For example, our 2:1 halyard is toast, so off to see the riggers today...
