Waves wind and no wine

The last 24 hours have been long. When one thinks sailing, one thinks wind. But wind is only 50% of the game here in the South Atlantic Ocean.

The other is waves. Waves here are rolling at ~2.5M, leaving us with an evolving choice point. We must start bending left (to the west to the port side), and the wind is beginning to push that way. But the waves are running right up the coast, creating a challenge.

We are just now starting a slow shift to the west. And one excellent lesson from the last day – even when you think you are as remote as possible, a friend might always drop by – see picture.
